The road to Punta de Teno runs through a tunnel and along a cliff face the colour of rust, ending at a lighthouse where the island simply stops. At sunset, the light turns horizontal and gold, and La Gomera hangs over the water like a stage set.

The final stretch (TF-445) closes to private cars on weekend afternoons in season — check the schedule and go on a weekday evening, or park in Buenavista and take the shuttle.
